Gigalab Gets an Upgrade: Installing the GigabotX 2 at Austin ReStore

Our team had an amazing day installing the GigabotX 2 3D printer into the Gigalab at Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStores, bringing cutting-edge technology to a place where it can make a real impact!

The GigabotX 2 is revolutionizing 3D printing with its direct-drive pellet extrusion technology. Whether using virgin, recycled pellets, flake, or regrind, this printer is pushing us closer to a circular economy by reducing reliance on filament and maximizing material efficiency.

This open-source, industrial 3D printer, powered by a 32-bit Ultimachine ArchiMajor control board and Klipper firmware on a Raspberry Pi, is all about empowering creators and innovators.
Crafted with precision right here in Texas by the incredible team at re:3D Inc, the GigabotX 2 is modular and upgradable.

We’re proud to be a part of this sustainable movement and are excited to see how the Gigalab will continue to innovate and inspire. Here’s to a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand!

We’re also excited to welcome Beibei Champagne as one of our Visual Education Associates! Beibei is leading our efforts to make technical information more accessible by translating complex concepts into engaging, digestible content for our community. She’s the one to thank for the new graphics jazzing up our LinkedIn page!

These additions reflect our commitment to making our work both visually inspiring and accessible to everyone. Come by anytime to check out the mural. You may even run into our Gigalab Associates who’d love to share more about all the progress they are making in the lab! ♻️
